Lille complete Corchia signing

French giants LOSC Lille have announced on their official website that they have completed the signing of Sebastien Corchia from Sochaux.

Les Dogues decided to make a move on their long-term target after Franck Beria had picked up a serious injury and they quickly managed to reach an agreement with their league rivals.

Corchia had a contract until June 2015 with les Lionceaux, but decided to leave the sinking ship and join one of league s in-form sides.

The 24-year-old had been linked with Europe s top clubs in the past, including Bayern Munich, Juventus and Arsenal, but Lille were the first side to submit an official proposal.

Corchia joined Sochaux from Le Mans in the summer of 2011 and went on to make 85 Ligue 1 appearances for les Lionceaux, scoring …

Salah ´sure´ Liverpool can win Champions League

Mohamed Salah is sure Liverpool can win the Champions League after Jurgen Klopp s side fell at the final hurdle last season.

Salah was injured in a collision with Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos in May s final, with a pair of Loris Karius mistakes and a superb Gareth Bale strike earning a third consecutive crown for Zinedine Zidane s side.

Liverpool open their 2018-19 Champions League campaign at home to Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday, with Napoli and Red Star Belgrade also drawn in Group C.

And Salah is positive about Liverpool s chances of adding to their eight previous appearances in the final, five of which have resulted in victories.

Last season, we eliminated Manchester City, then Roma, who had beat Barcelona in the quarter-fi…

Prediction: Manchester City vs Brentford

Best Odds: 17/10

Bookmaker:

Desperate to make an immediate return to winning ways on Tuesday night, Manchester City will welcome Brentford to the Etihad.

Manchester City

Starting with the hosts, while Manchester City might have mounted a late comeback against Chelsea over the weekend as they eventually snatched a 1-1 draw, Pep Guardiola’s men were left frustrated at the Etihad. Missing out on what they billed as a potential opportunity and dropping a pair of costly points, the defending champions are seeking an immediate response here. Nevertheless, although the Sky Blues might have a real battle on their hands in their bid to make more domestic history, Guardiola’s side are unbeaten in all of their previous 15 straight appearances across all competitions. …

Hernanes rubbishes exit rumours; Kroos confirms contract talks

S.S. Lazio midfielder Hernanes has moved to play down reports linking him with a January exit from the Stadio Olimpico, understands.

Recent reports have suggested Hernanes, a rumoured target of Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham Hotspur, could leave Rome when the transfer window re-opens in January.

The Brazil international, who joined Lazio from São Paulo in a deal worth €11.1 million in August 2010, has scored three goals in 12 appearances in all competitions for the Biancazzurri this season.

I want to deny all of those market rumours about me, Hernanes told Lazio Style Radio.

I have a contract with Lazio and I want to respect it with the same passion and professionalism that I have had from the beginning.

Real Madrid may be three points clear at the top of La Liga with a game in hand and safely into the last four of the Champions League but los Blancos are still widely expected to spend big this summer.

Fabinho: Man City clashes not decisive for Liverpool´s title hopes

Liverpool midfielder Fabinho is not convinced the top-of-the-table clash with Manchester City will define the Premier League title race.

European champions Liverpool can take a commanding nine-point lead at the summit with victory in Sunday s match-anticipated match at Anfield.

The clubs played out a goalless draw in this exact fixture last season before City prevailed 2-1 in January s return encounter, eroding Liverpool s hard-earned advantage back to four points.

Pep Guardiola s men ultimately pipped the Reds to the title by a point but Brazil international Fabinho does not view those missed chances as being decisive.

I don t think the outcome last season was based on the results against Man City, Fabinho told the Liverpool website.

But if we …

Darwin Nunez snatches last-gasp win for leaders Liverpool at Nottingham Forest

Darwin Nunez marked his return to action with a stoppage-time winner to snatch Premier League leaders Liverpool a 1-0 victory at Nottingham Forest.

The Uruguay striker headed home in the ninth minute of added time to lift Jurgen Klopp’s injury-hit side four points clear at the top of the table.

It appeared that three games in seven days had caught up with the Merseysiders, but Nunez’s last-gasp winner clinched them a first league win at the City Ground in almost 40 years and 14 matches.

INCREDIBLE.

— Liverpool FC (@LFC)

It was cruel luck on Forest, who have now won only one of their last seven league games.

Divock Origi had Forest fans on the edge of their seats with the game’s first shot on goal in the 15th minute as his low 25-…

Liverpool join race to sign Alexis Sanchez

Liverpool have joined the race to sign Barcelona forward Alexis Sanchez, .

The Merseyside club are tabling a latch ditch £27m bid for the Chile international, who scored his sides first in their 3-1 win over Australia in Cuiaba in the World Cup Group C opener on Friday.

Manchester United and Juventus have also been linked with a move for the 25 year old, though Reds manager Brendan Rodgers is keen to steal a march on his rivals with a big money offer.

Sanchez moved to the Nou Camp from Udinese in the summer of 2011, and has since made 141 appearances for the Catalan club in all competitions, scoring forty-seven goals.

Chile face holders Spain in Rio de Janeiro on Wednesday, and can be backed at a generous price of that would all but guarantee thei…

Best manager I ever had – Balotelli responds to Rodgers jibe

Mario Balotelli and Brendan Rodgers are seemingly both unconcerned by the assertion that sarcasm is the lowest form of wit.

Rodgers took a chance on signing Balotelli from AC Milan for Liverpool in 2014, with the enigmatic striker going on to endure a nightmare season at Anfield.

Balotelli scored once in 16 Premier League games as he proved a wholly inadequate replacement for Luis Suarez and returned to San Siro on loan a year later.

Rodgers was sacked early on in the 2015-16 campaign, but both men have gone about rebuilding their reputations this term – Balotelli netting 14 Ligue 1 goals for Nice, while Rodgers Celtic are unbeaten domestically and a game away from winning the Scottish treble.

Nevertheless, their ill-fated alliance on Merseyside still …

Prediction: Manchester United vs Atalanta

Best Odds: 11/10

Bookmaker:

Desperately seeking some kind of boost when they turn their attention back to European duties, Manchester United will welcome Atalanta to Old Trafford on Wednesday night.

Manchester United

Starting with the hosts, marking their return from October s international break with another hugely worrying display, Manchester United find themselves in the midst of an extended struggle. Throwing away the lead against Leicester on the road and eventually hit with a 4-2 drumming at the King Power, there remains a huge amount of pressure on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer s shoulders. A side that is only showing a host of issues and appearing miles off mounting any kind of serious charge for the Premier League title, the Reds have now won just one of their …
